Music Is
A few weeks ago, I was sitting at home bitching about wanting to get back on radio again. After my 2 year stint at Playvybz I felt like I needed more of a change and since having Ethan I have hardly been able to touch a pair of decks since.
By chance I saw a Facebook invite from a friend of mine about an all female dj session that was happening on my friend’s online radio station called Ladies First. I left a comment saying, I wish I was involved and 5 days later I was behind the Dj decks in a plush riverside apartment doing just that… getting involved!
I have now been given the opportunity to become a resident Dj with the Music Is family and trust me, I couldn’t be happier. Nice vibes, nice people, nice music, and child friendly.
Music Is, the brainchild of Ohaji Kamara, a fellow music lover and web designer is gonna be something you will have to watch out for. Every two weeks a group of music lovers meet up at a secret location and play music non stop while streaming audio and video footage to listeners tuning in all over the world.
The group of us meet up every 2nd and 4th Sunday, cook food, dance, drink, socialize and above all listen and play good music throughout the whole day and night. You can view us live playing a range of music from House, Disco, Soul, Hip Hop, Brazilian to Soca to Lounge .
My first session with the Music Is family was the Ladies First set and that set alone was amazing. I was the last Dj standing at 2.30 at night and trust me I could have gone on longer.
The other ladies on set were extraordinary. Too frigging good if you ask me lol and what was inspiring was that it was their first time being behind the decks. Big shout to Lady C Dj Hollywood Dj Chilled Dee and Madame Evieve Who tore some of them men a new ass hole by the end of their set. You can view us all on this video stream.
